thanks

monday

Felt fresh yesterday, today was a different story.  After a long day at work, went out for a 14 miler on tired sore legs.  The quads were really feeling tight and sore in the middle miles in the park, so decided to walk for a couple of minutes.  Those few minutes and yards in the mild misty March evening air were a gift.  Walking along the park road as the lights of the traffic passed by to my right, I thought I smelled the onset of spring, as maybe just an anticipation of the trees flowering.  I was grateful for being conscious of that moment in time.  Began running again home.

under the harvest moon

monday

12 nice and easy miles around the public golf course in the park, at dusk, under a gigantic glowing harvest moon shining down on mesmerized runners, bikers, walkers, and general onlookers.  Moments like this reveal the miraculous in this world, in our universe.  And I had the privilege of running under it.

The run itself was wonderful, the strides touching down lightly, equally on the golf greens and roughs.  12 light miles tonight, a track workout tomorrow, a 5k directed by a friend on Saturday, and then the Rochester Half Marathon the following Sunday, for which I have to get on the ball and register, and book a hotel room…

Ah, but that moon tonight….
