11 miles to the park and back, the temps were in the more comfortable 70’s and less humid, but this week’s h and h have really done a number on my body, especially the legs, so I was dragging more than running those 11 miles. It’s supposed to cool down and dry out over the weekend, so that’ll help the legs recover some more. Hopefully it continues through next week so I could be fresh enough to get in some speed work. Anyway, happy Friday and welcome June – you seemed so far away back in February!
15 long miles this afternoon after another busy day at the store, receiving and packing cases of fall fruits and vegetables, all types of squash, including pumpkins, and apples, pears, all hearty and heavy. Mist in the air, remnants of the most recent tropical storm – I’ve lost track, there have been so many. Cooled things off a bit in the last few miles. Go into work in the morning for another hearty day, then go for another double digit mileage day to try to hit the century mark for the week, just a day before the countdown goes to a month from the big day. Happy Friday!
It’s Friday, happy end of week! Had a great 17 mile run around the city on this beautiful August afternoon, ending on Buffalo’s waterfront – named ‘Canalside’ here – and finishing it off in style with a couple of local craft beers at the outdoor bar on the boardwalk. Doesn’t get much better than this.
Yesterday’s storms didn’t wash away all the humidity, a sweaty 9 mile run with my son in the park and around the neighborhood, about to have dinner and ice cream on this beautiful Friday evening, life is good because the weekend is here or is it the weekend is here because life is good?
A slow and easy 3 miler yesterday just to loosen up the legs on hot muggy afternoon. Still hot and muggy, hopefully it gets a little more comfortable at 7, race time at tonight’s 5k. Oh well, Happy Friday!
Continued the recovery runs with a slow easy 9 miler in the park and around the neighborhood. The body was still sore from Wednesday’s track workout, loosened up quite a bit by the second half of the run. The way I was feeling, any thought of doing a hard workout today went out the window. Will try a track workout tomorrow, playing it by ear.
Feeling good after a swig of seltzer water and a shower, now onto to a restful Friday evening in with a movie and pizza, ahhh.
Thought about a track workout this afternoon, ran down to the local Buffalo State college track, apparently it closes early on Fridays, good thing, I was sore and tired, and probably would have had a bad workout. Ran back home through the grounds of the adjacent luxury hotel that was converted recently from an insane asylum housed in a magnificent H H Richardson designed structure. Really looking forward to doing some speed intervals, my college days beckon. I’ll try again tomorrow, should be more rested and the track will be open. Now I’m about to have some Pierogies and beer. Happy Friday friends!
