It’s Friday, happy end of week! Had a great 17 mile run around the city on this beautiful August afternoon, ending on Buffalo’s waterfront – named ‘Canalside’ here – and finishing it off in style with a couple of local craft beers at the outdoor bar on the boardwalk. Doesn’t get much better than this.
Yesterday’s storms didn’t wash away all the humidity, a sweaty 9 mile run with my son in the park and around the neighborhood, about to have dinner and ice cream on this beautiful Friday evening, life is good because the weekend is here or is it the weekend is here because life is good?
A slow and easy 3 miler yesterday just to loosen up the legs on hot muggy afternoon. Still hot and muggy, hopefully it gets a little more comfortable at 7, race time at tonight’s 5k. Oh well, Happy Friday!
Continued the recovery runs with a slow easy 9 miler in the park and around the neighborhood. The body was still sore from Wednesday’s track workout, loosened up quite a bit by the second half of the run. The way I was feeling, any thought of doing a hard workout today went out the window. Will try a track workout tomorrow, playing it by ear.
Feeling good after a swig of seltzer water and a shower, now onto to a restful Friday evening in with a movie and pizza, ahhh.
Thought about a track workout this afternoon, ran down to the local Buffalo State college track, apparently it closes early on Fridays, good thing, I was sore and tired, and probably would have had a bad workout. Ran back home through the grounds of the adjacent luxury hotel that was converted recently from an insane asylum housed in a magnificent H H Richardson designed structure. Really looking forward to doing some speed intervals, my college days beckon. I’ll try again tomorrow, should be more rested and the track will be open. Now I’m about to have some Pierogies and beer. Happy Friday friends!
The best run I’ve had in a number of days, a joyful 10 miler in the park, the weather cooler and drier today, felt more rested, and the first run with my son since last winter. Was great to be back on the roads with him. Now heading out to dinner, ready to feast. A wonderful run with your child, great dinner, the weekend…what more can you ask for? Happy Friday everyone!
Feeling the miles of the past week, went out for a nice 5 mile run around the neighborhood. No need to push it, an enjoyable recovery run on a cool fall evening. Stayed mostly on trails. Kicking back on a Friday night, will go for a tempo run tomorrow. Happy weekend!
