like riding a bicycle


Got the 1st track workout in nearly a year under my belt tonight.  Overall a good  workout, a good episode. Even with the lush new track surface at a high school I was privileged to run on, I felt rusty on the straight a ways and around the turns during this evening’s 14 x 400 meters (1 lap) averaging 80 seconds each with 30 seconds recovery in between.  Having only 30 seconds to recover between the hard runs was rough, especially on this sunny 90 degree day that seemed hotter on this bright red track. But had the company of a couple of younger runners at my level, and we pulled one another through the workout successfully. And as it turns out I had many runner friends in this new club I was with tonight, and they heartily welcomed this new kid in the camp.
