Took yesterday off as I got home late, it was dark, the ground was still icy outside, and I didn’t want to slip and injure myself. On the bright side, it was a chance to get a rest day, taking full advantage of these weeks before the full marathon training begins in the new year.
After a restful night and some improvement in the weather, got outdoors for a good run, initially intending 8 to 10 miles but extending it to 14 miles. Yesterday’s rest day provided a boost, and it was nice to be able to get in a 14 miler without much trouble. Won’t be so easy in the new year, as the goal will be to do these types of runs tired and sore, after long runs. Fun stuff.
