prepping for thanksgiving

Didn’t get a chance to post yesterday, snuck in an 8 mile run before heading to a couple of pre-Thanksgiving events, including my track club’s Fall/Thanksgiving party at a downtown brewery.  Fun with lots of good food and, of course, beer.

Recovered from the pre-holiday celebrating with an interval workout on the track this evening.  4 x 800 meters (½ mile) averaging 2:40’s with 1 lap rest jog, then 3 x 400 meter sprints.  Feel really good about the workout, tough and productive.  The last hard one before the Turkey Trot.

The temps were in the 70’s today, so I had to get out there and take advantage of it.  The weather’s supposed to deteriorate over the weekend with some lake effect snow forecasted, then moderate for Thanksgiving Day and the Turkey Trot.  This is typical fall Western NY weather, summer one day and winter the next.

I like how you recover from a few beers with intervals. Totally my thing!
Sounds like fun festivities, and I bet you’re looking forward to your son coming for the week. Hope you two have a great time and don’t let the weather get you down!
