rolling along

8 easy recovery miles mostly on trails on a cool windy day, the body still sore from the past couple of weeks ot running/racing/work.  Didn’t push the pace – didn’t need to nor want to – while enjoying the soft leaf covered trails and roads.  The work schedule gets back to normal this week, so will have time for some speed workouts, possibly even some track intervals, something I haven’t done in a while, to get ready for the Thanksgiving Day 8k Turkey Trot (the 121st, the oldest road race in N America).

The Trot marks the unofficial end to the area’s major road racing season, though more races continue throughout the winter.  It’s also a Thanksgiving tradition for many runners and their families, and so will be for us, as my son will be running it with me again this year when he comes home from his first semester at college.
