Got in one last hard workout before Sunday’s Lucytown Half down in Jamestown. Still a little tired from the past week of increased workload and a little too close to race day for a long run, decided on my ‘go to’ hill workout. Did 6 mostly uphill sprints of about 500 yards each on the trails in the park, with a couple of minutes of jog rest in between. Hill workouts, especially on trails, being a dependable preparation for any type of a race goes back to the college running days. Hills or any type of trail running seemed to get me ready physically and mentally for any big race. Still works today.
8 miles for the day, sore from the workout, recovery days between now and Sunday.
