7 relaxed miles yesterday through the neighborhoods and the parkway, staying mostly on grass and trails, feeling nearly back to normal running.  

With a possible 5k next Friday and to get the blood flowing a little bit, went to the track this afternoon for a little workout, my favorite pain inducing intervals, repeat halves.  Just to reintroduce myself to breathing hard, did 4 x 800 meters with about 300 meter jog rest in between.  Wasn’t a killer workout, not a lot of intensity, but still came out with some good splits: 3:04, 2:57, 2:50, 2:44.  Evidenced by the splits, I felt more comfortable with each interval.  

Including warm up/cool down, 7 miles for the day.  With the tempo runs, fartleks, and the preparatory races over the winter and spring, I knew I didn’t lose too much anaerobic fitness while marathon training, and this workout implied it.
