a good one

goal race: Buffalo Marathon 5/29


An encouraging run on this warm sunny afternoon.  Started out tired and legs feeling heavy, was only looking to do some distance, about 12 to 14 miles.  Ran into a friend who was doing a tempo run in the park, and joined in for 6 miles at 6:20 pace.  Kicked the you know what out of me and my legs, but hung with him for the entire up-tempo.  The recovering right foot held up – some soreness but the pick up in the pace and the forward momentum actually reduced the pain.  That was good.  Eased on home the last 3 miles, very tired and with achy legs, 14 tough miles altogether.
