Beginning to get the constant ‘dead-leggedness’ that’s indicative of marathon training. That plus back to back mid-long distance runs like those of the past two days can feel as bad as a tough intervals workout, but in different ways.
14 miles today, to the park and back. The temps were down to near 20, so had to be careful of the ice on the roads from the rain/snow of the past couple of days. The mostly dry surface didn’t provide much cushioning, and legs felt it, the right quad tightening up a bit. The weight from the extra layers of gear to counter the cold made the run harder – which should ultimately pay off later on in races.
Not quite a grind, but a tough run nevertheless. Feeling good now.
