The weather stations this afternoon said it was 70 degrees outside, but I didn’t believe it – it didn’t look that warm outside the window – so wore a second layer before heading out. It WAS that warm, the day’s new temperature record that had stood since 1901, and by the middle of today’s 11 mile run, I was sweating like it was the 4th of July. Then it started raining lightly around mile 8 and cooled things down for the rest of the run. Felt great to run in shorts, a new pair of shorts that I didn’t think I’d be using until springtime. What a pleasantly weird time a little over a week from Christmas. Like the pedestrians I saw today walking aimlessly past the display windows, I guess the snow’s waiting until last minute.
