10 miles on a fairly mild morning, the legs felt this week’s increased mileage, but the new pair of shoes helped cushion the blow. Went on my ‘go to’ route, to the park, through it, then back. A lot of runners and walkers were out taking advantage of this generous late fall western NY weather.
The increasing mileage and my general approach to the off-season suggests (strongly) that I’m headed for a spring marathon. I’m already skimming through and reviewing the marathon training book I’ve used in the past, Pete Pfitzinger and Scott Douglas’ Advanced Marathoning. It has a nice balance of the authors’ experience and scientific grounding, and Pfitzinger has much credibility. Good to turn to an old friend.
