7 recovery miles in the dark, still mild out but windy and cooling down from an approaching cold front. Physically sluggish from yesterday’s ½ mile repeats but mentally upbeat, feeling positive and hopeful about upcoming races.
The weather forecasts for those races, Saturday and Thanksgiving, are promising, especially Thanksgiving day. It’s been a brutally cold couple of years for Buffalo’s Turkey Trot, the oldest continually run road race in North America (5 months older than the Boston Marathon), but it looks to be a comfortably cold one (in the upper 30’s, maybe even the 40’s) this year. That gets you inspired.
