I think I found a new winter workout spot, the approximately 1 mile bike path I wrote about last week, around a pond in the part of the park closest to my house. It’s normally crowded with walkers and bicyclists, but was sparse today during my ½ mile intervals in the light rain. Likely to stay that way over the winter months.
The approximately ½ mile runs, 6 of them with a 90 second rest in between, were in the 2:42 – 2:47 range, and were tough, especially the last 2 reps. But the cool weather and light rain as well as having an open path were pleasant. Happy about the nice new workout spot – like getting a new pair of shoes – and today’s intervals felt like I’m getting back into 5k shape.
Including warm up and cool down, 9 miles for the day.
