It’s always nice when you’re able to execute a planned hard workout. After some hard physical labor last night unloading a produce shipment at my workplace and yesterday’s run, did the planned 6 mile tempo run at around 5:50/mile pace around a hilly loop in the park. A nice simulation of the final 6 miles of the race. The weather – cold and breezy – was a nice touch for anticipating race day conditions.
With tired legs and arms, the run sure wasn’t a ‘walk in the park’. But it was encouraging and got my psyche revved up for next week ahead of that Sunday’s half marathon. With a 3 mile warm up run to the park and 3 miles back, 12 miles for the day.
