navigating the line

Some more progress today, inching ahead. Able to run 6 miles, entirely, again mostly on grass. Still some soreness in the calf, but getting better (the calf actually felt better when I ran faster – maybe because of more horizontal movement).  Iced the area afterwards.

Relying on experience for this ‘rehab’. It’s a fine line between awareness and denial, between courage and foolhardiness. If the calf were painful, I’d simply rest; but this situation calls for testing it out.

In my late 40’s, after any dent and bruise, I’ve accepted that I’m no longer ‘good as new.’ But they simply become part of ‘the whole’, even patches of honor.

Hmm. An interesting shift in learning about the body after 45. I like your perspective.
Also glad you’re able to get running in. Today will be better, for sure.
