tempo run on tired legs

My schedule allowed me to go to my club’s track workout tonight for the first time in a month.  After the past few weeks of distance and racing, the legs felt beat up.  So on the 8th straight day of 80+ temps and high humidity, what more fun than a 20 minute tempo run on the track.  I had the option of doing some 400 meter intervals, but felt that the tempo run would better prepare me for the Rochester Half Marathon in 2 weeks.

I managed a little under 6 minute/mile pace for those 20 minutes, and it was grueling getting the legs going at a steady state.  All in all, a good workout, a good day.  8 miles altogether.
