turning back the clock a little

Some late morning 200 meter sprints to get the arms and legs reacquainted with speed – or some semblance of it in a 48 year old distance runner – as a primer for Wednesday’s track mile.  It was an adventure, going nearly all out, trying to remember what it felt like going fast in college.

The splits ended up being (in seconds): 35, 34, 33.8, 33.5, 33.3, 33.3, 33.2, 34.  Not bad.  Was definitely sucking wind, and jogged very slowly in between to get plenty of rest (this was primarily speed work and not anaerobic).  A little nostalgia during the workout thinking back to the days when these were not a big deal.

2 miles warm up/7 miles after the workout, 11 miles for the day.
