Decided on the Canal Fest 4 miler, a nice quaint local race up in Tonawanda, NY, a Buffalo suburb, instead of the 5k, won the race in 22:31, running it alone for about three miles as the co-leader dropped off after the first mile, not as fast as I was hoping on this nice flat out and back course, but a fun time, especially the post race party, and won a nice $50 gift card for a nice local restaurant. Ran it with my teenage son, he came in 8th overall! 2nd in his age group. Very happy for him, he was so happy, as he doesn’t run many road races. Then we hung out at the festival celebrating the Erie Canal heritage. A great nite!
