A quick post today. Once I made it just in time to the race driving through a whiteout with almost no visibility, had no time for a warm after registering, jumped in, slid around, got cold – feet and hands especially – slid around some more on the snowy roads – though the town of Lockport came out in force to do an amazing job of clearing the snow during a blizzard – went neck and neck with a youngster for about 5 miles, then got dropped, and hung in there for the rest of the 10 miles for a cool 2nd place overall and first master. Just missed breaking 1 hour, but that was expected – this isn’t a day to fret about times. Yes, survived, thrived, and then exhaled.
