Plan on adding a tempo or fartlek along with some more increased distance again the rest of the week. Besides rest and recovery, I find that easy distance runs like today’s have other race benefits. That relaxed feeling resembles being ‘in the zone’ during a good race. You have to know how to race with and get accustomed to that feeling as well as with pain; and that can be learned and refined during an easy run like today’s.
