slip, drop, and roll

What’s a winter run without a fall, but I’m getting good at it.  Slipped on an ice patch hidden under snow, but luckily fell on a soft pile of snow – slip, drop, and roll – came back up covered with snow from top to bottom.  Didn’t help that the old pair of shoes I’m wearing barely had any traction left.

It was a fun interruption in the middle of a 14 miler that was more taxing than expected.  Had taken yesterday off due to fatigue from 2 tempo runs in the previous 3 days and some lifting yesterday.  It’s supposed to warm up to the 30’s tomorrow, so plan on doing another longish run, 14-18 miles depending on how I feel, and maybe include a tempo run.  This is base building time, and it feels like marathon training.
