19 tough miles all around Buffalo including the waterfront, with the Saturday morning training group, and threw in three 2 mile pick ups @ 6 to 6:30 minute mile pace in the middle of the run. It covered cleared roads as well as snow covered patches. The long run was especially tough after last evening’s 14 miler, from which I didn’t feel completely recovered. Feeling beat up a little, but the body is still in one piece.
It’s a good feeling knowing that these tough runs are building strength. I was telling the guys that one of my goals this year is to mix in more of these long runs throughout the year and increase the mileage in general. I petered out a little towards the end of last year’s racing season and would like to stay stronger longer this year.
