8 miles in the evening again. Due to the schedule these days, doing more late afternoon runs that feel like night runs because of the early darkness. Wasn’t too cold out, which made the run more enjoyable. Once you’re a couple of miles into it, the night run sometimes feels better than in the daylight. You’re more focused and open to the rhythm of the run, more aware of your breathing and the strides. All this awareness, I think, eventually comes back to help you in races, helping to block out the pain and other distractions.
