Tired after yesterday’s 16 miles in new shoes, but this is a half-marathon training distance week, so ran 12 miles today with a 7 mile tempo run in the middle.  A fatigued 7 miles at a decent clip – 3 miles at 6:00/mile pace, 3 miles at 5:50/mile pace, final mile at 5:45 – around a rolling 2 mile road loop in the park will be good for the race in little over a week.  The goal was to run at a decent pace, practice focusing on runners ahead, and stay as relaxed as possible – especially the shoulders – while tired.  Success on all accounts tonight.  The 2 mile cool down back home was a nice relief.

Feeling a little beaten up, will see if I can do another 14 to 16 miles tomorrow.  It’ll be a grind for the next 3 to 4 days before the taper.
