After this morning’s 5k, spent a nice day with my son, a good lunch and running shoe shopping; then went for an 8 mile evening run to get a start on preparing for the USATF half marathon champs in 2 weeks. Today’s double workout totals 14 miles (6 this morning, 8 tonight).
A lesson from last Sunday’s Rochester Half was that I have to be mentally tougher for a longer race like the Half. Having become a 5k/10k specialist (lol) in the past year, the half marathon felt loooong. More mileage and more long runs will be required for the next one, and it started today.
