A relaxing 6 miler around the neighborhood, peaceful near the art museum, with many people out strolling around on this warm September evening. An extended recovery period from Sunday’s half. Feeling near normal now, should be fine by Sunday’s 25th Annual Linda Yalem 5k after a couple more easy runs and sleep.
Running the 5k for a few reasons. To stay sharp for the rest of the Fall racing season; it’s part of a 12 race Buffalo News Runner of the Year series, which means it’s a competitive race, and I’m in the mix for final standings; and also the race is named for a U at Buffalo student murdered in 1990 on the campus bike path while jogging, training for the NY City Marathon – would like to help honor her and keep her memory alive, and support the race’s efforts to raise awareness of public safety.
