perks of not training for a marathon

Took it easy with a 3 miler around the neighborhood, to give my left foot, still sore, a bit of a rest. A dreary day, but comfortably cool. Somewhat tired after Thursday’s 5k and some consistent trail running the last three days, there was no need to be a hero today and so gave self a break. And there’s another 5k Wednesday so more reason to feel good about easing up.

These are the perks of not training for a marathon. Distance isn’t essential these days, and I’ll take full advantage of it while doing the shorter road races.
