staying mindful…


Humidity continued.  Legs still a little tight from Tuesday’s workout, so decided on another easy relaxed 7 mile run.  Another calm mindful run (as much as it’s possible on a hazy humid afternoon) along the neighborhood cafes and shops, their outdoor seating wet from from this morning’s thunderstorm.  The forecast looks great for Saturday morning when the local Susan G Komen 5k goes off, so I registered.  It should be a fun race.

I don’t know if the past couple of days of easy runs will help for Saturday’s race, but they sure have been enjoyable, after what feels like several weeks of constant ‘go go go’ in all my runs.  I’m not intending to do any significant tapers for a race until the fall, but these occasional ‘mini-breaks’ during peak training phases are becoming increasingly necessary…especially as I move further into the masters category.
