some good running


After going into work for a few hours this morning, got in 10 tired miles on ‘heavy’ legs around the park and the parkway.  Was able to get ahead of the warm temps by a couple of hours.  Heavy and lacking in bounce, the legs still had some ‘pep.’  The difference between ‘bounce’ and ‘pep’ is that the bounce comes from fresh legs, but ‘pep’ is the life in the legs even when it’s tired.  For the first time in a long while, felt mentally strong, and it translated to running strongly through the fatigue and pain.

After spending a great day with my son on a gorgeous Sunday, the good run vibe stuck around in the evening so decided to get in another run, 5 miles.  Why not?  Felt great, wanted to take advantage of the great weather – remember this past winter? – so did a double.  This second run felt even better.  Looking out the window now at a beautiful sunset…
