10 miles with the Saturday morning group around a sunny warm Buffalo waterfront, up grande Delaware Avenue, through the eclectic Allentown section, and finished past the bustling Elmwood-Bidwell farmers market. Felt sluggish at the start, and the uphill on Delaware Ave was a workout, but the last 3-4 miles were pleasant, even as we had to wind through the crowded sidewalks. Pedestrians were kind enough to get out of our way – ‘please, you first’ – and in turn we acknowledged their gesture as we passed by – ‘‘why, thank you! Have a great day!’ Okay, the encounters weren’t quite so; it just seemed that way. Buffalo’s such a polite place.
