goals and such for tomorrow’s race

…so tomorrow’s Shamrock 8k is considered W. New York’s unofficial start of the racing season.  With over 5000 runners, it’ll be very competitive as every runner from the region, it seems, will be there, along with the distance runners from nearby Edinboro University in PA, a nationally ranked Div III cross country program.  The Edinboro guys usually take at least half of the top 10.

Don’t like to talk about goal times or placings before a race.  The goal for me is to be ‘competitive,’ whatever that means.  I’ll know by the middle of the race; I’ll know better by the end of the race.  I want to have a good strong steady pace, and have a strong finish.  I’ll have a good idea in the second mile…
