putting the fun in run

Had planned to do 12 miles this morning with some fartlek or intervals thrown in, but was not feeling it, got up late, and not in the mood for an intense one.  So ran 12 in the park, without the intervals.  Will save the anaerobic stuff for Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.  Looking to do a 10 mile race on Saturday, sort of a kick-off race for the year in this area, so really would have had time for one hard workout between now and then anyway.

This is the time of the year were I can be a tad undisciplined and move the hard workouts around, be flexible.  Can’t be intense the entire year, it’s a long season.  Give self a mental break now and save the intensity for later; there will be enough of those later.

For now having fun with distance, distance, distance…
